Overview
LDA’s journey began in Danané, Ivory Coast, where thousands of Liberians had fled when the civil war began in Liberia 1989. Since 1998, LDA extended its engagement to Liberia and has to date completely rebuilt 16 schools, while 2 are under construction in 2010. In addition, LDA is running Grassfield School in Gardnersville, a suburb of Monrovia. The school provides education to 1200 students of all ages. LDA will start the operation of a Technical College in autumn 2010. We are also engaged in fighting the spread of HIV/Aids in Liberia and raising awareness for Human Rights and Democracy.
In our work, we have received support from Sida, Radiohjälpen, Forum Syd, as well as corporate partners, sponsors and individual members.
